TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER
Garrett Technologies is seeking a versatile technical project manager to lead complex product development.
The role requires leading a team of engineers in full life-cycle design and development activities for a family of products.
In this role, you will utilize your organizational and leadership skills to plan and supervise tasks for a team of 6-10 engineers and communicate project status to management and clients.
The project manager will contribute technical expertise and leadership to tasks including embedded software engineering, electrical design, mechanical design, requirements definition, architecture, integration, and testing.
This is a full-time contract position on-site in our Northbrook, IL location.
Required Qualifications:
BS in Engineering with 10+ years’ experience in full life-cycle product development.
Ability to plan and manage tasks to deliver projects on schedule.
Deep, hands-on experience in hardware and software development from technical feasibility through transfer to production.
Experience leading the development of software utilizing structured development methodologies.
Experience leading PCBA design.
Expertise in utilizing project management or PLM tools, requirements management tools, and issue tracking tools (Atlassian Confluence & JIRA, MS Project experience a plus)
Possess good written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work in a team environment along with the ability to interface effectively with offsite clients and team members.
Willingness and ability to get into the deep technical details of a project.
Preferred Qualifications:
MS in Engineering.
3+ years’ project management experience.
Prior experience in medical device development (IEC 62304).
Experience with Altium Designer, SOLIDWORKS, embedded software development.
PMP Certification.
Experience developing medical devices in an ISO13485 quality system.
Systems Engineer
Garrett Technologies is seeking a versatile systems engineer to create innovative solutions for a diverse range of products.
The job will require full life-cycle design and development of products including requirements definition, architecture development, risk management, integration, and testing.
In this role, you will provide engineering expertise to design and develop products for the medical, consumer, and industrial markets.
Ensure compliance with applicable quality, regulatory, cybersecurity, and safety requirements.
You will work in small teams or independently to execute contract engineering projects for a variety of clients.
This is a full-time contract position on-site in our Northbrook, IL location.
Required Qualifications:
BS in Engineering with 10+ years’ experience in full life-cycle product development
Minimum of 5 years’ systems engineering experience.
Demonstrated understanding of product development lifecycle, requirements management, risk management, verification and validation, and regulatory compliance.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in FMEA, hazard analysis, and test planning.
Experience in design for manufacturability, serviceability, reliability, etc.
Possess good written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work in a team environment along with the ability to interface effectively with offsite clients and team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
MS in Engineering.
5+ years’ systems engineering experience in the medical device industry.
Experience leading internal and external audits.
Experience completing regulatory submissions.

Sr. Electrical ENGINEER
Garrett Technologies is seeking a versatile electrical engineer to create innovative solutions for a diverse range of products.
The job will require full life-cycle design and development of electronic products including requirements definition, circuit design, schematic capture, PCB Layout, embedded firmware development, integration, and testing.
In this role, you will provide engineering expertise to design and develop electronic products for the medical, consumer, and industrial markets.
You will work in small teams or independently to execute contract engineering projects for a variety of clients.
Qualifications:
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years’ experience in full life-cycle product development
Experience with microcontrollers, digital and analog electronics, and PCBA design using Altium required.
Possess good written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work in a team environment along with the ability to interface effectively with offsite clients and team members.
Ability to plan and manage tasks to deliver projects on schedule.
Embedded firmware development experience, medical device experience, and experience designing wireless communications products or motor control products is a plus.
