INPOINT

The InPoint system assesses a patient’s risk of developing cancer. The InPoint system’s Low-coherence Enhanced Backscattering (LEBS) technology is an optical platform that examines and analyzes nanoscopic structural tissue changes. The technology is based on the concept of field carcinogenesis – during the initial stages of cancer, tissue changes spread throughout the organ due to common environmental disturbances and genetic composition. These changes are identified by the reflection of light from the tissue. LEBS measures changes at a specific area (rectum) that are indicative of the entire organ examined (colon).
